Autism-informed coach

EJ Horrocks, MA, LPC, NCC

Inspired to hold every person capable, Ej Horrocks achieved a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling specializing in Addiction Counseling from Appalachian State University. To complement her academic accomplishments, Ej has provided services in community mental health, residential treatment centers, substance use treatment, in-home behavioral care, wilderness family therapy, and private practice.

Ej’s areas of focus include life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, parenting, relationships, and challenging life experiences. She is also a Brainspotting practitioner, helping people to process and self-heal a wide range of emotional challenges more adaptively. As an autism-informed and neuro-divergent affirming mental health practitioner and coach, she is passionate about providing meaningful tailored support that empowers clients to navigate their unique challenges while honoring their authentic selves.

Some of Ej’s favorite places include porches, hammocks, mountain tops, and cozy reading nooks. A seasoned wilderness guide and thru-hiker of the Appalachian Trail, Ej is a nature-based practitioner who weaves this part of her life-experience into her work in meaningful ways. As a dog mom, her pups Dune and Gilly join her on forest runs, desert adventures, and in her antique camper - Ej works and lives on wheels where clients often join her in session virtually.
